MASKS
A series of watercolour paintings on folk Masks around the world

My interest towards Heritage/Folk Masks started when I was awestruck by the massive traditional masks preserved at the Heritage Village in Manipal. These Masks are being used for generations in Folk Culture of the people of Southern Karnataka. Over the years, Masks have become part of their rituals and customs and have acquired a sense of sanctity and divinity. Below are a series of my watercolour paintings on Folk Masks used by the Tribes and Ethnic groups of various countries around the world.
